Méribel Vallée boasts a total of 52 lifts and one of the biggest ski areas in Europe, if not the world! On Saturday 17th March 2012 teams will attempt a simple to explain, but exhausting to complete, marathon on skis.

Teams will need to complete a full journey on every lift within the valley during the course of a single day. This works out at a lift every 9 minutes! The lifts open at 8.30 am and will be closed by 5.30pm.

Each team consists of between 4 and 6 skiers and can include one professional guide. The teams choose their own routes, but which ever order they select it will require skiing a descent of over 15,000 metres – just short of two Mount Everests!

A full set of rules will be available to teams once they have registered.

Over the last two events the teams have raised over £500,000 for charity.

As in 2008 and 2010, teams will be competing for the prized Coeur Blanc Silver and Diamond Badges.
